What about prayer

I often ask myself, what do people pray about or better yet is there truly a right way to pray? Does God hear a prayer not uttered, perhaps just in the heart, do prayers really go unanswered or do they get answered every time someone prays. I wish I could pull back that mysterious curtain of the heavenly kingdom and see what goes on behind the scenes of peoples lives. For the mothers that sit at their child's bedside praying for healing, or the prayers of safety for a loved one traveling far from home, loved ones in the military in war over seas, prayers for reconciled relationships or lost loved ones to be saved, or perhaps for that person who seems to have come to the end themself and calls out to God in desperation just one last time to be rescued. Prayer is so elusive yet so full of the things of life. Jesus modeled prayer in his life's ministry while here on this earth. Arising early before the sun to commune with his father in isolated and desolate places. Perhaps he knew all the things that we just ponder about. Taking time to be with his father, to commune as one in the spirit. What types of battles did he fight in prayer I wonder. What things did he pray to God about? Was it prayer to be strong and to lead his disciples? Was it prayer for wisdom on how to preach the promises to so many people with unbelieving hearts of stone and ears that would not hear? His feet would walk many a mile over history where so many people had walked and he knew that he must spread the word of the Kingdom of God in so little time. Did he ever get discouraged when he looked at the faces of the multitudes of people so lost and in need of a shepherd? Did he miss heaven? Did he fear the cross?
